Too many things happening, so I have to send out an interim newsletter!
Camp - it's still not too late!
We've already got 45 people going to the camp - it's not too late for you to go as well - you just won't be getting the commemorative t-shirt, because they've already been ordered. IFKKA Interclub Tournament Round 3 - Sunday 6th Nov
The final round of the IFKKA Interclub tournaments will take place on the 6th of November. Entries are due by Friday 4th Nov. This is where the IFKKA dojo compete against each other. The tournament will be taking place at the Five Dock dojo, and entry cost is only $10. See me for entry
Bunnings Fundraiser
We're still raising funds to cover the cost of sending our competitors to the recent IFK Junior World tournament in the UK. To this end we've managed to book a BBQ slot at Bunnings at Ashfield. This will be on Sunday 13th November, and is an all-day event. If you can help for the day or just a couple of hours please contact Senpai Jenny on 0410 339 842 or jfuller@learnkarate.com.au
Fundraising hats
Another initiative we have for fundraising is IFKKA caps. They're selling for $15 each, and the income will contribute to the tournament kitty.They'll come in useful when training outdoors at the camp!
We would like to continue sending deserving competitors to various tournaments, both in Australia and overseas, so we will continue fundraising on a regular basis. The next Junior World Tournament is only 3 years off! If you have any ideas on how to raise funds, please do let me know.
IFKKA Merchandise
If you're interested in any other IFKKA merchandise, such as extra uniforms (gi), bags, backpacks, t-shirts, hoodies, singlets, mouth guards, shin/instep pads, and mitts, see me in the dojo.
IFKKA Newsletter
Senpai Jenny, the Fivedock (KKC) dojo instructor is the editor of the general IFKKA Newsletter. This is now available from the main IFKKA website, and from the Kuro Obi website. I also have a couple of hard copy versions in the dojo on the counter at Petersham.
Junior World Tournament Video
The IFK has published a short video of the tournament, with Robbie Simmons (Fivedock) at 30s and Tony Le (Marrickville) at about 1:05m making a short cameo appearance. Oh, and I'm in the middle of the line up of officials, at about the 9 second mark. You can watch it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TFTYvnHBhc. I am still in the process of editing our own videos of the event, and I'll let you know when it's done.
