Where is Kuro Obi Kyokushin Karate?

Kuro Obi Martial Arts is based in the Inner West of Sydney, Australia. It currently operates in two locations: Petersham and Newtown.

The main dojo (training centre) is at 96 Crystal St, Petersham, and is a full-time facility with classes running every day of the working week. The entrance is just around the corner on Brighton St. See the timetable for details.

The Petersham dojo is within easy distance of any and all of the following suburbs: Petersham, Lewisham, Stanmore, Enmore, Newtown, Leichhardt, Annandale, Forest Lodge, Erskineville, Summer Hill, Ashfield, Haberfield, Dulwich Hill, Marrickville

The Newtown club is in Newtown North Public School. This was the main dojo location for over 15 years, but since the opening of the Petersham dojo, it is generally restricted to children and their siblings who attend Newtown PS. under the age of 12. Because Newtown training is only once a week (which is really not enough for both physical and mental development in karate), many of the students there ALSO come to the Petersham dojo once a week.

 



HOW TO GET THERE

TRAIN
Petersham Railway Station is 5-10 minutes walking distance away, depending on how fast you walk. The more you train with us, the shorter the distance will be!

BUS

The 412 stops opposite Brighton St, on Douglas St, and the 444 runs along Crystal St. You can download route maps and timetables from here.

Parramatta road is only a short distance from the dojo, and any bus that stops near the Crystal St junction would be suitable too.

In a pinch, the 428 stops at the intersection of New Canterbury Road and Livingstone Road, about 10mins walk from the dojo.
CAR
There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood, for example on Railway St, Terminus St, Douglas St, and Stanley St.
